XIU HUA XIE QI AN

In the late years of the Republic of China, during a period of turmoil, there were frequent incidents of female university students being kidnapped and disappearing in the city. The old mansion of the Shang family, located in the outskirts, was notorious as a sinister place. On a chilling and rainy night, a college student was found dead in the Shang mansion, and another man involved in the case met a tragic end. The mysterious and eerie nature of this case made it something that people in the police department avoided. A young female police officer named Zhen Xiaohuo, who did not believe in supernatural explanations, faced opposition from the veteran officer Zhen Meihu who insisted on investigating the case. Xiaohuo befriended the mysterious wealthy young lady Zhao Yique, and the two women joined forces to focus their investigation on the hidden activities within the Chengfeng Building on the outskirts of the city. This led them to a despicable human trafficking operation, led by Chang San, also known as "Uncle Chang," and involving the notorious underworld known as the Eight Gates of the martial world—namely, Jing, Pi, Li, Gua, Feng, Huo, Chu, and Yao.
