Eager to escape from his familial duties, Zixiang is sent to Taiwan for business negotiations but is immobilized by a sniper attack en route. He persuasively hires the capable assistant, Fengjie, to employ Shaopeng as his caretaker, hoping to seize the opportunity to flee for freedom. Shaopeng, frustrated in job seeking due to his deafness and muteness, discovers he's being used and angrily decides to leave; understanding the reason later, he expresses his empathy for Zixiang through sign language. Gradually, Zixiang is attracted by Shaopeng's perseverance and tenderness, particularly moved by his optimistic facade that masks his anger and insecurity about his deafness and his doubts about love. To protect Zixiang, Fengjie agrees to act as a decoy, tricking the clumsy assassins led by the Xin family into making their move, which inadvertently allows Fengjie to escape danger, sparking love.
